Mix all accepted materials together in your cart; leave materials loose, do not put in bags.
Glass is not accepted in your blue cart. Click here for glass recycling information.
Break down large cardboard and avoid wedging it in your cart. Wedged cardboard does not come out when the carts are collected.
STORM INFORMATION- Updated 7-26 9:00 A.M.
Please secure your trash and recycling carts in severe weather! If your cart was washed away during the storm, or was damaged, please call Environmental Services at (505) 955-2200 to schedule a replacement.
FLOODED HOMES- if your home was affected by flooding inside the structure, call (505) 955-6949 for a special collection. Environmental Services will confirm that your home was affected, and will collect carpet, flooring, sheetrock, or water-damaged houshold items at no charge.
Once scheduled for collection, place the materials on your curb or toward the front of your yard/property and don't block sidewalks. Special collections for flooded homes begin Thursday, July 26 and will continue as needed.
YOU MUST CALL AND GET YOUR ADDRESS ON THE LIST FOR SPECIAL COLLECTIONS. WE ARE FOCUSING ON HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES FIRST.
NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ACCEPTED FOR SPECIAL COLLECTIONS. We cannot legally collect Household Hazardous Waste for general disposal. This includes chemicals such as paints, cleaners, automotive fluids or other chemical products. Please contact the Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency at (505) 424-1850 for information on household hazardous waste disposal, or for self-hauling flood affected materials.
We will update this Storm Information section as we receive new information.
Glass and Excess Materials

Pink Recycling Carts
A limited number of Pink Carts™ were made available to cancer survivors and their family/friends. Cascade Engineering and the City of Santa Fe have made a $5,000.00 donation to the American Cancer Society chapter. This funding supports the Santa Fe Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiatives, which the City sponsors annually.
