Environmental Services (Trash and Recycling)
In winter storm conditions, all collection routes attempt to run as scheduled; please place carts out as normal. Some residential streets may be inaccessible for our vehicles, and delays may occur due to road conditions and safety considerations. If we are unable to access any accounts on schedule, our crews will return as soon as conditions permit safe collection. Call (505) 955-2200 for current information.
Mix all accepted materials together in your cart; leave materials loose, do not put in bags.
Glass is not accepted in your blue cart. Click here for glass recycling information.
Break down large cardboard and avoid wedging it in your cart. Wedged cardboard does not come out when the carts are collected.
Glass and Excess Materials
Recycle residential glass, large cardboard boxes, and all of the materials listed and pictured above, at the City's recycling drop-off centers, or at the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station (BuRRT). If you have large amounts of recyclables or commercially generated materials, please use the BuRRT.
If you live outside of city limits in Santa Fe County, please visit the County's website for recycling information: https://www.santafecountynm.gov/public_works/trash_and_recycling/recycling
Pink Recycling Carts
A limited number of Pink Carts™ were made available to cancer survivors and their family/friends. Cascade Engineering and the City of Santa Fe have made a $5,000.00 donation to the American Cancer Society chapter. This funding supports the Santa Fe Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiatives, which the City sponsors annually.
