Summer Youth Program
2020 City of santa fe summer youth program
The 2020 City of Santa Fe Summer Youth and Teen Program as we know it has a new look this year. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic we will not have a traditional in-person summer program to ensure the safety of the children, staff and community. Instead we are working with Libraries, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Community Educators Network to provide a fun, active and hands-on remote learning experience.

Yes, summer programs are closed but a new and exciting 2020 Remote Summer Program will start on June 1st and go through July 31st. The program will be offering Arts & Crafts, virtual tours through our Museums, Science Activities, Cooking Activities, and Reading Activities with prizes to be earned! Recreational activities will be included for movement outdoors and indoors, there will be many more exciting activities to do throughout the summer to keep youth and families engaged. The program is free to all children 6 through 17 years of age. Parents occasionally will fill out a quick survey to make sure we have activities available that you and your kids like.

So you may be asking, how are you able to get into this summer program? Each week on Monday you will have two ways of being able to pick up kits for you to begin the adventure of summer fun. You may pick up the kits at the Santa Fe Public School sites that are handing out school lunches which are El Camino Elementary, Chaparral Elementary, Sweeney Elementary, Kearney Elementary and Capital High School. The Monica Roybal Center is also avaliable as a pick up location.
This is a first come first serve program, program materials will be available online so if you have the means to purchase materials yourself please do so! We want to make sure our kits go to families who may not be able to afford the cost of the materials. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Victor Vigil at 955-6860 or visit www.summersantafe.com.
