Parks & Recreation
PLAY, EXPLORE, PRESERVE
Welcome to The City of Santa Fe Parks & Recreation Department
Midtown Campus Project
As the Santa Fe University of Art & Design moves closer to a 2018 closing date, the City of Santa Fe has been preparing for a once-in-a-generation opportunity to repurpose a true gem, located in the geographic center of our community. Together, we can positively impact education, housing, economy, health care, entertainment, social equity, government services and the overall quality of life for our community while catalyzing the re-development of the St. Michael’s Midtown LINC corridor.
We are now reaching out to you, our incredible community, once more to help guide our efforts in creating a strategic vision for the future of this important property and our City.
We call this public process the Midtown Campus Project.
In the first phase of the Midtown Campus Project, we want to hear your ideas and priorities for the property. To do this, we will use online collaboration activities, and reach out through traditional surveys available online and in-person.
We encourage everyone to get involved!

The City of Santa Fe Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide range of recreational opportunities for adults and children alike by providing innovative and sustainable services at all city parks, trails and recreational centers.
Santa Fe offers more than 50 scenic parks, from neighborhood rose parks to historical and athletic parks. Play a game of tennis on one of the city's outdoor tennis courts or enjoy a leisurely stroll with inspirational views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. At the Santa Fe Municipal Recreation Complex, for example, you can watch a game of soccer, softball or rugby, if one is scheduled, or let the kids play on the large jungle gym.
At the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, the city's largest recreational facility, sign up for a class in kayaking, ice skating, yoga, Pilates, cycling and more. Swim laps or take a water exercise class in the 50-meter pool. Play hockey or twirl on the ice during the public skating time on the ice arena. Drop in for a game of hockey, volleyball, basketball or indoor soccer. You can also swim and take fitness classes at the Salvador Perez Pool & Fitness Center and the Fort Marcy Complex.
Whether you're an avid fan of the great outdoors or someone who loves breaking a sweat in a recreation class, you'll find plenty of ways to enjoy recreation in Santa Fe.
The City of Santa Fe Parks and Recreation Department promotes enhanced quality of life to its diverse community through sustainable opportunities by offering safe, healthy and accessible resources to parks, facilities and recreational services.
Through spirited service-we invite the community to share our unified vision to PLAY, EXPLORE, PRESERVE
