An unknown male caller is impersonating a City of Santa Fe Water Division employee in a phone scam to steal money from local water customers. In one recent case, the caller told a local business owner that their water would be shut off if they did not pay an amount by phone using a pre-paid credit card. This is a scam. A pilot curriculum launched by MAKE Santa Fe with support from the City of Santa Fe Economic Development fund to give young Santa Feans skills to build careers in advanced manufacturing and digital fabrication will receive a big boost this year. On July 4th the City of Santa Fe administrative offices, libraries, waste transfer station, Buckman Diversion offices, Municipal Court, and recreation centers will be closed in observance of Independence Day. The closures include Santa Fe Trails, as buses will not run on the 4th. However, Trash and Recycling will be picked up on the normal schedule, so please have bins out by 8:00am if you are on a Tuesday pick up route. All facilities and services will return to normal schedules on July 5th. ...Read more »

On July 4th the City of Santa Fe and the entire Southside won’t just have the Declaration of Independence to celebrate: before the fireworks begin, the Santa Fe Farmers Market will officially launch El Mercado Del Sur, a Southside Farmers’ Market bringing fresh, healthy, local food to Plaza Contenta every Tuesday between 3pm-6pm. The grand opening celebration will be from 3pm-6pm July 4th, and Mayor Javier M. This weekend, specifically, Saturday, June 17th, will be a busy one for Santa Fe families! First on Saturday morning at 7:00am, anglers age 11 and under are invited to come out for the Santa Fe Kids' Fishing Derby! The river will be stocked with 500 Rainbow Trout! After noon, any one with the appropriate fishing license can join the fun observing daily limits! Then it's Take a Kid Hiking Day, with an organized event from 9:30-11:30am at the Sierra Del Norte Trailhead just 3 miles north of the Plaza on Hyde Park Road! But you don't have to make the event to be a part of this day, just hit the trail or sidewalk nearest you for a walk to reconnect with nature, and each other, in the beautiful Santa Fe surroundings!
