Youth Poetry Reading with Santa Fe Youth Poet Laureate Hannah Abram

Also: Two Finalists for the Youth Poet Laureate Mariah Duda and Artemisio Romero y Carver

They may be young but they have a way with words. Santa Fe Poet Laureate Elizabeth Jackson invites you to hear 18-year-old Hannah Laga Abram, our Youth Poet Laureate, reading her works at Op. Cit. Books Wednesday, August 21 at 5:00 p.m. Hannah is a recent graduate of the Santa Fe Waldorf School, and a rising freshman at Middlebury College, where she hopes to study political science and international relations. Having grown up in New Mexico, Hannah feels most deeply herself when outside in the wild. She has been enchanted by words ever since she can remember and loves to act, read, write, and discuss everything from politics to chocolate to the color blue. She is also reporter for Generation Next, the teen page of the Santa Fe New Mexican. A Scholastic Art and Writing Awards gold key recipient, her poetry has appeared in Cadmium Yellow Press, The Deserter, Taliesin, OrrisRoot Magazine, and the Pasatiempo.

WHERE: Op.Cit. Books, 157 Paseo De Peralta (In the De Vargas Mall), Santa Fe, NM, 505-428-0321

WHEN: Wednesday, August 21 at 5:00 p.m.

WHO: Youth Poet Laureate Hannah Laga Abram.
