Santa Fe Police hope some of the city’s most violent wanted offenders turn themselves in before the New Year.
Detectives in the Crimes Against Persons Unit are conducting a proactive warrant round up. They are currently searching for eight wanted offenders with dangerous criminal histories including armed robbery, child abuse, battery and domestic violence.
All of the individuals are either on the run from police or have skipped out on their court appearances. Investigators think some of them may also be linked to other crimes in the city including two possible cold cases.
The number one target on the list is Robert Pacheco, 32, and a close second is Christopher Mavis, 33.
Pacheco is wanted for robbing a Weck’s restaurant on Cerrillos Road at gunpoint in September. He then caused a lengthy SWAT standoff October, 29th. Investigators believe Pacheco is involved in many armed robberies throughout the city including one where Mavis is thought to be his accomplice. That incident occurred at GameStop on Cerrillos on August 22nd.
Others on the list include:
Courtney Coriz, 29: Wanted for child abuse, drove drunk with three children in the car and skipped out on court
Oscar Guzman-Aguilar, 33: Wanted for Domestic Violence
Edward Tapia, 20: Wanted for Domestic Violence has a history of robbery
Ramon Cano-Vega, 51: Wanted for Domestic Violence and Shoplifting
