The Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency is hosting a free Trash Amnesty Day for Santa Fe city and county residents at the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station (BuRRT) and Caja del Rio Landfill on Saturday, April 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Unlike past trash amnesty events, this event will be for one day only. Residents bringing trash in cars and small pickups can go to the BuRRT facility at 2600 Buckman Road. All large pickups and pickups with a trailer must go to the Caja del Rio Landfill at 149 Wildlife Way.
Free trash disposal includes:
- Garbage, rubbish, unwanted materials
- Bulky items such as large appliances, furniture, mattresses, box springs
- Remodeling or building materials, carpet, tiles, concrete, bricks, metal
Fees will be charged for trash brought in commercial vehicles and trailers.
Fees also will be charged for household hazardous waste, green waste, electronic wastes, and tires.
