The Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) is offering a six week training class for residents preparing to participate in upcoming triathlons. The class will be taught by Carol Davenport and Ted Freedman, veteran triathletes and certified instructors. This class is designed to meet the needs of students new to the sport of triathlons, as well as challenging and inspiring more experienced and seasoned triathletes.
Students will work on improving swimming, biking and running techniques required to succeed in a triathlon. Subjects covered will also include transitions, nutrition, strength training, injury prevention, equipment maintenance and race day strategy.
This class is on Sunday mornings from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m., and begins August 4 and runs through September 15. There will not be a class over Labor Day weekend. The fee for the class is $80. Register at the GCCC front desk. Please bring gear for all three sports to each class.
