3-week comment period for Route 2, 22, and 26
Santa Fe, NM – Santa Fe Trails, the City’s bus service, is asking the public to weigh in on proposed changes to routes and route schedules for the 2, 22, and 26 routes.
Route 2 runs between the Downtown Transit Service and Santa Fe Place Mall along Cerrillos Road corridor. The proposed schedule modifications bring the schedule in line with more realistic drive times along the Route. It does not change the departure times from the Downtown Transit Center or Santa Fe Place Mall or affect the connections with the Rail Runner at South Capital Station.
Route 22 runs between Santa Fe Place Mall and Santa Fe Community College via the Human Services Department (HSD), NM599 Rail Runner Station (when there are trains) and the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA). This service runs weekdays only. The proposed modifications re-assign the HSD stop to Route 26.
Route 26 runs between Santa Fe Place Mall and the Fashion Outlet Mall along Cerrillos Road, and also serves the Southside Walmart. The proposed modifications add the HSD stop and add new stops at the VA Clinic and the soon-to-be-open Presbyterian Hospital.
A Public Information Meeting will be held April 12th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at the Santa Fe Place Mall Food Court, which is adjacent to the current Southside Transit Center. Transit Staff will provide information, answer questions and receive feedback.
For more specific information on these proposed changes go to www.takethetrails.com
The public can also call 505-955-2001, email [bot protected email address] or stop by the Transit Administration Building at 2931 Rufina Street, Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM to ask questions or provide feedback.
The Transit Advisory Board Meeting will also take public comment at its April 24th meeting, before voting on the modifications. That meeting is scheduled for 5:00PM at the Transit Administration Building, 2931 Rufina Street.
If approved the changes are tentatively scheduled to take effect on Monday June 4th, 2018.
