Santa Fe, NM –
The City of Santa Fe is inviting the community to share your ideas, tell your story, and help identify housing solutions for our community a public meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16th, from 4pm-6pm at the Southside Library! This pairs with an ongoing survey, currently available in English or Spanish at the links below until August 18th, to better understand residents’ housing decisions and their experiences living, working or going to school in the city. Your answers to the Santa Fe Resident Survey and involvement in the meeting tomorrow will inform an assessment of fair housing and access to opportunity—the Assessment of Fair Housing.

Residents are welcome to drop-in on the meeting at any time. Kids are welcome to come along, accommodations for disability are available using the contact information on the flyer.

Asking residents for their feedback, Mayor Javier M. Gonzales said, “Access to housing is one of our biggest challenges, and while we’ve taken steps to boost our affordable housing fund and encourage building of affordable units, we have to keep working. This survey is a major component of that broader undertaking.”

Alex Ladd, Director of the City’s Affordable Housing Office, said, “We will thoroughly analyze data from a variety of sources about our community, but we believe our residents have a story to tell, and we want to hear it. Participating in the survey is a great way for people who live in Santa Fe to identify public and private sector factors that may create barriers to housing choice and access to opportunity for all our residents.”

The Assessment of Fair Housing informs local goals to address fair housing issues raised by the research. Links to the Santa Fe Resident Survey can be found here (available in English and Spanish):
