Wednesday, July 30, 2013 Officers with the Santa Fe Police Department arrested Kevin Fulgham, 34, and charged him with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer and Concealing Identification.
Fulgham was unlimitedly parked in author Forrest Fenn’s driveway on the 1000 Block of Old Santa Fe Trail and the victim called police saying the suspect refused to leave.
When officers arrived Fulgham was sitting on the bumper of his Brown Jeep Wrangler reading a book in the victim’s driveway. Fulgham told police his vehicle ran out of gas and he wanted to get a book signed for his father. Officers noticed the suspect seemed to be disoriented and confused. They offered to help move the Jeep but Fulgham refused.
At that time he was asked to provide identification to which he refused and gave officers a wrong birthdate. Upon searching the vehicle, his Arizona driver’s license was located. During the search Fulgham confronted one of the officers, who could not back away due to the close proximity of a tree and bushes. Fulgham continued to close in on the officer, ignoring verbal commands to stand down and grabbed the officer’s uniform. The officer was able to put the suspect in an arm bar and cuff him.
He was arrested on the above charges and the vehicle was towed.
