SFPS to Open In Voluntary Hybrid February 22nd
SFPS is opening in a voluntary hybrid model, Pre-K - 12th grade on February
22nd; honoring our commitment to give families/staff two weeks notice, allow teachers at the
secondary level to return to set up their classrooms, and to have the middle and high schools
inspected. We fully expect to pass the inspections with flying colors. All protocols and health
requirements have been in place since August.
SFPS is exploring various hybrid models to maximize the number of students we can serve
based on the number of staff who volunteer.
Two barriers to bringing every student back on campus are the availability of vaccines for staff
and being able to meet social distancing requirements.
SFPS is committed to doing all it can to facilitate the vaccination of all staff who want it when it
becomes available to 1B in the DOH prioritization for vaccination.
On Thursday, at the February 4th Board Meeting, we will release various hybrid models that will
be available to each school in order to better accommodate each school’s unique needs and
maximize the number of students served. Click here to view the board meeting agenda.
