Sister City Livingston, Zambia Delegation Visits Santa Fe
His Worship, Mayor Aggrey Njekwa of Livingstone and his
Delegation including his Chief Fire Fighter Arrive in Santa Fe
Mayor Aggrey Njekwa of Livingstone, Zambia and members of delegation arrived Santa Fe yesterday. Members in the Zamian delegation include: His Worship, Mayor Aggrey Njekwa, Livingstone; Ms. Kabukabu Sikwibele, Director of Legal Services, Livingstone; Ms. Nancy Kabaso, Representative of His Royal Highness Chief Mukuni; Chief Fire Fighter, Mr. Elvis Machokwende, Livingstone; and Chief and Fireman Union President, Mr. James Daka, Luska.
Tomorrow the Zambian fire fighters will participate with City of Santa Fe fire fighters in a Santa Fe Auto-X training exercise. Santa Fe Auto-X teaches emergency rescuers to how to extract people that may be trapped in a vehicle.
The Sister Cities program started during the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower, and the mission of the program is to “promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation — one individual, one community at a time.”
The Santa Fe Sister Cities Program consists of a Mayor-appointed and City Council-approved Sister Cities Advisory Committee and seven Sister City relationships. Santa Fe is a member of Sister Cities International and has existing Sister City relationships with:

Santa Fe de la Vega, Granada, Spain
Sorrento, Italy
Tsuyama, Japan
Holguin, Cuba
