Santa Fe youth are invited to participate in the first ever Transportation/Urban Design Photo Competition!

The Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization is hosting the first ever Santa Fe Youth Transportation and Urban Design Photo Competition, sponsored by the American Planning Association New Mexico Chapter.

Youth, ages 13-18 are invited to submit photos taken in 2020 that capture and describe transportation in Santa Fe as seen and experienced by the young, old, merchants, disabled, tourists and anyone else. This is an especially unique time where COVID-19 restrictions may have altered people’s means of travelling in Santa Fe. Creative images that tell a story or have a message are desired. We invite youth to help tell that story with their photography.

Selected photographs will be displayed in a public art installation of “Santa Fe Street Stories and Local Photography.” Additionally, the top four photos will be awarded cash prizes: 1st place $500, 2nd place $350, 3rd place $250, and $4th place $100.

Youth can submit up to three digital photos from a phone, tablet, or computer up until the submission deadline: 5:00 PM, November 30, 2020. Competition winners will be announced December 15, 2020. Youth or their parents must have a valid email to participate and parental permission is required for youth under 18.
