Santa Fe River Commission Seeks Member Applications

The City of Santa Fe River Commission is currently seeking applicants for commission member positions. The Santa Fe River Commission was re-established in 2007 as a mayoral advisory group to the governing body with the goals of restoring the Santa Fe River to a living river and improving the health of the city’s watershed. The commission’s scope includes advising the governing body with respect to implementation of the city’s sustainable stormwater management efforts, including identification and prioritization of watershed capital projects, and community education to promote water-quality.
Appointed by the Mayor, the commission consists of seven members and two alternates. Members may be City or County residents. The term of all members and alternates shall be three years, and members and alternates may be re-appointed upon the expiration of any given term.
The River Commission meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
