December 20, 2013 – January 5, 2014
The Santa Fe Public Libraries encourage children to read over winter break. Children, can come in to the library beginning Friday, December 20, 2013 and pick up a reading log. The program is open to all children birth to 12 years old. They can bring the log back twice and the library will give them an incentive each time they bring the log back. While the program officially ends January 5, 2014 they can bring their logs back up to January 30, 2014.
“During the public school’s winter break, the library will support not only a fun reading break but also help students maintain or increase reading skills and academic enrichment. It is also a perfect family activity while the kids are out of school—families can come in and read together,” stated Patricia Hodapp, Director of Libraries. “Librarians can make recommendations for great books to read.”
