Technology Tuesdays at Southside Branch!

Clueless about your new tablet? Need to fill out an online job application, and don’t know where to begin? Want to learn how to check out e-books from the library, and need help getting started? The Southside Branch of the Santa Fe Public Library is here to help with all of these computer questions and more with Technology Tuesdays, a series of free monthly computer workshops starting on Tuesday, January 14, 2014., designed to help beginning computer users in need of a little basic tech support.

Workshops will be on the second Tuesday of each month, January through April, at 10:00 a.m. in the Southside Community Room. Each one hour workshop will begin with a 15-20 minute presentation on a specific computer or technology-related topic, followed by an open forum session to answer general computer questions and work through basic computer problems.

At the first session on January 14th, we’ll start the New Year off with a presentation on some technology trends for 2014, and focus on getting started with new devices acquired over the holidays. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet, and any computer questions they may have.

Other topics to be presented over the course of the monthly sessions include computer safety and security, tips for job seekers, and checking out digital materials from Santa Fe Public Libraries. For more information, or to register please contact the Southside Reference Desk at 505-955-2820.

To volunteer to support our literacy projects or for more information contact the Library at 505-955-6789.
