Santa Fe City Clerk Certifies Candidates Seeking Public Financing
  • Participating Candidates are candidates who qualified for public financing by submitting the minimum number of qualifying contributions, names, registered addresses and signatures for each elected office.

 

    • Mayor: The City Clerk’s Office certified Patti J. Bushee, Bill Dimas and Javier M. Gonzales as participating candidates eligible to receive $60,000 from the City’s Public Campaign Finance Fund. These participating candidates submitted the minimum number of 600 valid qualifying contributions. 

 

      • Rebecca Wurzburger was not certified as a participating candidate.
      • Roman “Tiger” Abeyta has withdrawn as a mayoral candidate and therefore his application for certification as a participating candidate was also withdrawn.

 

    • City Councilor: The City Clerk’s Office certified the following City Councilor candidates as participating candidates eligible to receive $15,000 from the City’s Public Campaign Finance Fund. These participating candidates submitted the minimum number of 150 valid qualifying contributions. The following candidates were certified: (a) District 1: Michael J. Segura; (b) District 2: Rad Acton, Joe H. Arellano, Joseph M. Maestas; (c) District 3: Marie Campos, Carmichael A.  Dominguez, Angelo Jaramillo.

 

 

  • Mary Louise Bonney, candidate in District 2 was not certified as a participating candidate.

 

  • The following candidates did not apply for public financing: (a) District 1: Signe Lindell; (b) District 2:  Jeff Green and (c) District 4: Ronald S. Trujillo.

 

 

  • Declaration of Candidacy:

 

  • Participating candidates must also file a valid declaration of candidacy on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. If the City Clerk’s Office certifies their declaration of candidacy, the participating candidates may receive a check as early as Thursday, December 5, 2013.

 

  • Candidates, who were not certified or did not apply for public financing, remain eligible to run for office. They must also file a valid declaration of candidacy on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. If the City Clerk’s Office certifies their declaration of candidacy, they may run as a privately-funded candidate.
