Virtual Talk with Dr. Debbie Reese, Tuesday, January 19 at 5 p.m.
Dr. Debbie Reese of Nambé Pueblo, founder of American Indians in Children's Literature (AICL) provides critical analysis of Indigenous peoples in children's and young adult books.
Whose stories do we choose to promote? How can we more actively center Native stories and experiences? How can we use children’s books to broaden our community conversation about race and decolonization?
Dr. Reese discusses why representation matters and how we can think differently about classics we continue to pass down to generations and when selecting titles for young readers.
This event for parents and educators is not to be missed.
