Santa Fe, NM – This Wednesday, October 24th, the City Water Conservation Committee and County Water Policy Advisory Committee will hold a joint meeting at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center’s Coronado Room.
The meeting is the result of an increased effort at coordination on policy that impacts both City and County residents, spearheaded by Councilor Carol Romero-Wirth and Commissioner Anna Hamilton.
The two-hour meeting starts at 4:00pm and is slated to include a presentation on water resources in the City and County, and a review of the long-range water supply and future projections for both the City and County.
Councilor Romero-Wirth said, ““The City and County Water Committees are starting a dialogue to understand our shared water resource. We must find ways to collaborate and build trust.”
Commissioner Hamilton said, "Our first joint meeting of the County and City water committees is an opportunity to increase mutual understanding of water-related processes and issues, as a starting point to explore ways to cooperate in facilitating a more secure, sustainable water future."
