Police need assistance locating 16-year-old Hunter Woods, he is the suspect in a shooting that occurred on Monday, April 29, 2019 and two additional shooting incidents on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 . He is believed to be armed and dangerous. An arrest warrant was obtained for Hunter for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Tampering with Evidence for the incident that occurred on Monday.
If you see Hunter immediately contact the Police by calling 911 and please do not attempt to approach him. The investigation by Santa Fe Police remains active and ongoing; if you have any information to provide on the above incidents please contact Sergeant Bryan Martinez at 505-955-5226.
Hunter is believed to be driving his mother’s vehicle, a silver 2016 Kia Rio sedan bearing New Mexico plate 890SXN. The rear passenger windows to the vehicle are tinted and the front windows do not have tint applied.
On Monday, April 29, 2019, just after midnight the Santa Fe Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the Avaria of Santa Fe Apartments, located in the 1800 block of Lorca Drive. During the incident an adult male sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Officers responded to two (2) additional shooting incidents; one which occurred near Las Acequias Park on Calle Atajo and another incident at a residence in the 3500 Block of Charley Bentley Road. On Calle Atajo, witnesses reported two vehicles met up and several males appeared to have some disagreement and a male brandished a firearm, discharging the firearm at least 1 time. All the males returned to their vehicles and fled the location. Officers did not locate any injured persons. At the residence on Charlie Bentley, several vehicles were struck by gunfire at the residence.
At both locations witnesses provided similar suspect vehicle descriptions; a silver Kia sedan with at least two male occupants. A witness description of one of the male suspects was consistent with Hunter as well. At this time investigators suspect Hunter is involved in both shooting incidents that occurred Wednesday evening.
