Police Search for Purse Snatcher

Santa Fe Police detectives are looking for a man accused of snatching a 56-year-old woman’s purse while she was shopping for flowers.

The woman was shopping at a grocery store located at 3542 Zafarano Drive Tuesday, July 9, 2013 just before midnight. The victim stated she was looking at flowers and a man reached over her, grabbed her purse and a bouquet of flowers then ran out of the store.

The purse contained the woman’s debit/credit cards, cash, cell phone, keys and medicine. It’s described as a large, black purse with leather shoulder straps and silver chains.

The suspect dropped the flowers in the parking lot.

On Thursday, July 4, 2013 officers arrested a different purse thief. The cases are not believed to be related.
