News & Announcements
Sunday, November 15 is America Recycles Day, sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. America Recycles Day is a nationally recognized day to promote and celebrate recycling in the United States. Though in-person events have been postponed due to COVID, the Environmental Services Division has compiled some ideas and suggestions for residents who want to celebrate the day from home.
Take the “Be Recycled” Pledge online and commit to:
- Learn: I will find out what materials are collected for recycling in my community.
- Act: Within the next month, I will reduce the amount of waste I produce, I will recycle more, and I will buy products made with recycled content.
- Share: In the next month, I will encourage one family member or one friend to take the #BeRecycled pledge.
Download the FREE Recycle Coach App to become a better recycler:
- The app is available on iPhone or Android
- Residents enter their address, and the app will preload their collection schedule and send notifications when it’s time to place carts on the street for pickup
- The app also allows users to report problems like a broken trash/recycling cart directly to ESD’s customer service team
Have an at-home recycled art contest:
- Can you create a costume or piece of art using entirely repurposed materials/items that would have gone into the recycling bin? Check out these photos from the Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival for inspiration!
