Gun Violence Proclamation [PDF]
National Gun Violence Survivors Week - a week when we come together to share and amplify the stories and voices of gun violence survivors who live with the impact of gun violence every day of the year - begins today and ends on Sunday, February 7th.
There are three ways we are asking mayors to support this critical work:
1. Post about National Gun Violence Survivors Week on social media using this toolkit.
2. Issue a proclamation declaring February 1-7, 2021 National Gun Violence Survivors Week in your community using this template.
3. Share your story. If you have been personally impacted by gun violence and you feel comfortable sharing your story for this year’s National Gun Violence Survivors Week Moments That Survive, please let us know and we’ll work with you to amplify it. St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson shared her own story last year.
Please let us know if you've already participated or if you plan to do so. Thank you for all you do to keep our communities safe.
