Holiday Ice Skating Show “Heroes & Villains On Ice”

At The Genoveva Chavez Community Center

The Santa Fe Skating Club’s 2019 show, Heroes & Villains On Ice, will take place at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Road, on Saturday, December 7 at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m.. The show will feature over 70 local skaters of all ages and skating abilities, including 40 skaters who are in the Santa Fe Skating Club’s Learn to Skate program. A special feature of this year’s show is the participation of four pairs of mothers and daughters, three of them skating duets. 

This year’s special guest is Senior Men’s Skater, Jun-Hong Chen. Jun-Hong is a Santa Fe native whose family moved to Boston in 2017. Jun-Hong represents the Skating Club of Boston and is the 2020 Eastern Section pewter medalist.

Tickets are available through the Club’s website, www.santafeskatingclub.org, and will be available at the door.

Prices are $10 for ages 12 and up; $5 for ages 2 – 11; and free for under 2 years old.

Press is welcome at a show rehearsal on Sunday, December 1 at 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM and at the dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 1 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.

The Santa Fe Skating Club, a New Mexico non-profit corporation, is a member club of U.S. Figure Skating.

The Chavez Center Ice Arena offers year round ice-skating. Skating Parties, Learn to Skate classes, Speed Skating, Curling and both Youth & Adult Hockey Programs and Leagues are offered.
