The City of Santa Fe Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Saturday Warriors is hosting the Santa Fe Triathlon on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
The Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) will be closed on Saturday, August 24. The facility will re-open on Sunday, August 25 at 9 a.m. Memberships can be utilized at the Ft. Marcy Recreation Complex.
The Sprint Triathlon consists of a 5k (3.1) mile run, a 12 mile bike and a 400 meter swim which will all be staged at the GCCC. The race starts with the run on Rodeo Road in front of GCCC at 6:30 a.m. and then proceeds with the bike course out to Rodeo and on to Richards Avenue. Riders will be going south continuing on past IAIA and turning around at the back side of Rancho Viejo. The riders will follow the same course back to the GCCC and proceed to the swim portion. The run and bike course will be open to traffic, but will have intermittent stops by police and course marshals to ensure the safety of the participants. We hope to have everyone off the roads by 9 a.m.
We appreciate the public’s patience and support during this event. Please be careful and yield to the participants.
