Santa Fe Police are looking for a pair of not so bright, yet photogenic, crooks. The man pictured below in the green hat is accused of stealing an iPad, iPod Touch, laptop and three external hard drives from a residence on the 2200 Block of Via Manzana on August 20, 2013.
The victim called police after syncing his iCloud Software and finding the picture the crook accidentally took of himself on the stolen iPad. Police hope someone will recognize this man and turn him in.
The second set of pictures shows a suspect who appears to be posing in front of his stolen iPhone’s camera. The phone was taken from a victim’s car (about two months ago) while the victim paid an attendant for gas at a gas station on Airport Road. Once again the victim synchronized his iCloud Software and was able to collect a self-portrait of the thief. Police would also like to identify this criminal.
In both cases these pictures are priceless. Technology is constantly providing authorities with new sources of intelligence and leads in otherwise dead-end cases. Everyday SFPD finds new ways to use the advancements and will continue to pursue the opportunities for prosecution they provide.
Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call police at 505-428-3710 or Crime Stoppers at 505-955-5050.
