A 23-year-old man is undergoing a mental evaluation after one of his friends said he made some concerning comments regarding Gonzales Elementary School.
Police responded to the school just after 7 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014.
A friend of the 23-year-old told the school’s principal the man wanted to dress up like a clown, barge into classrooms and take pictures of the scared student’s reactions. The principal called police. Officers were sent to the school, it was asked to shelter in place for a short time.
Police then tracked down the friend, the man and the man’s mother just after 9 a.m. The issue was discussed, and following the discussion all parties involved recommended the 23-year-old be taken for a mental evaluation.
He is not facing any charges at this point.
The shelter in place recommendation was lifted was lifted about 2 hours after it was issued.
