Some of the unsung heroes in the Public Utilities Department who manage one of our most precious resources have received recognition for their good works from the New Mexico Water and Wastewater Association.
The Canyon Road Water Treatment Plant received the Most Improved Facility Award, which was given for a slew of major upgrades at multiple sites.
The Wastewater Management Division’s Anthony Keryte, whose section maintains our sewer lines, was named Operator of the Year.
"I appreciate the all the individuals that make up the Public Utilities Department team," says Director Shannon Jones. "While they may not be publicly recognized enough for the great service they provide to the city every day, there is a great value in being recognized for their accomplishments and commitment by their peers in other water and wastewater systems across the state. I say to them, well done and well deserved."
