News & Announcements
Building Closures Continue
In accordance with the current public health order and to prioritize the health and safety of employees and residents, the City of Santa Fe will continue to provide services via virtual offices and limited openings of in-person facilities. City buildings that are currently closed will remain closed, while virtual offices will remain open. The City will continue to monitor emerging health recommendations, best practices, and the financial crisis as we make decisions moving forward about how and when parts of City government and facilities will reopen.
We will provide updates on our website, social media, and through email distribution.
Recreation Facilities, Parks, and Trails
Portions of the Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC), including the lap pool, fitness center, and indoor track, will remain open by reservation only.
Bicentennial Pool, Ft. Marcy, and Salvador Perez will also remain closed until further notice.
For detailed instructions for using GCCC and to book reservations please call 505-955-4000. For updates and information please visit our website at www.chavezcenter.com
Senior Centers Will Remain Closed, Meal Pick Up Available
Senior Centers remain closed to the public, but curbside meals are available to seniors for pick up at the Mary Esther Gonzales Senior Center, 1121 Alto Street, Monday - Friday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Libraries Will Continue Curbside Services At All Three Locations
Hours for curbside service are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from noon - 5:30 p.m. Additionally, outdoor book drops are open for returns at all three locations with the limited hours of Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Patrons can check out new materials by placing them on “hold” through the Library system’s online catalog, catalog.santafelibrary.org (account log-in is patron’s last name and their library card number), and request the location where they would like to pick up their materials. Patrons can also call one of the Library branches for assistance with placing holds (Main Library: 955-6785; La Farge: 955-4860; Southside: 955-2810) or to schedule a walk-up pickup appointment.
Patrons are also encouraged to utilize the Library’s digital collections of eBooks, audio-books, movies and virtual programming at santafelibrary.org.
City Meetings Will Continue To Be Held Virtually
Governing Body, City Council Committees and Land Use committees will continue to meet virtually. All other advisory committees will remain in a moratorium.
Exceptions to the moratorium will be made in cases where committees are legally required to meet or have a fiscal responsibility with an impending deadline. Requests to modify the schedule are reviewed by the City Manager.
Most meetings can be viewed on YouTube. Meeting links and passwords can be found on www.santafenm.gov under “Weekly Meetings List."
New Digital Tools for Residents Improve Virtual Services
The City has added new digital tools to streamline and improve virtual services. Residents can now view meeting agendas and packets, request documents , and report issues entirely online (visit www.santafenm.gov and click "Hot Topics").
We will be reviewing the progress we’re making toward moving the county from red to yellow and then to green under the Governor’s public health evaluation system. As we make progress toward reducing the spread of COVID and monitor the uptake of vaccinations, we’ll assess ways to reopen to the public.
Stop COVID with NOVID - City Deploys Innovative App
NOVID is one of many tools the City of Santa Fe has implemented to address the spread of COVID-19.
NOVID is the first app in the world that gives users a personal "pandemic radar" that provides early warning before exposure to COVID-19, differing from “contact tracing apps,” which notify people after exposure and ask them to quarantine. The app is free and uses no personal information or GPS data.
Download the NOVID app for free in the Google Play or Apple App Store and enter the code ‘SANTAFE’ in the Settings page to start building your anonymous COVID radar today.
