Armed Robber Caught on Tape

Santa Fe Police Detectives are searching for any information leading to the arrest of an armed robbery suspect who displayed a gun and demanded cash at an area gaming store.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at GameStop on the 3700 block of Cerrillos Road.

Video shows a suspect, described as a Hispanic man, wearing a puffy gray jacket and purple hat, lift his shirt and flash what a witness said was a black semi-automatic pistol. The clerk said the suspect told him “I’m sorry to do this, it’s nothing personal, but I need the money in the register.”

The clerk handed the suspect an unknown amount of cash from two cash registers. The suspect then left the store headed eastbound on Cerrillos.

He faces robbery charges when caught.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call Santa Fe Police at (505) 428-3710 or Sgt. Williams at (505) 955-5227.
