Please join us for this year’s Sustainable Santa Fe Awards Gala, sponsored by the City of Santa Fe Sustainable Santa Fe Commission, the Green Chamber of Commerce, Earth Care, the Green Fire Times, and hosted by Green Drinks, La Fonda Hotel and Horizons Sustainable Financial Services.
Come celebrate this year’s winners of the Sustainable Santa Fe Awards. This gala is being hosted by Green Drinks and all members of the public are invited to join in the recognition and celebration of our local sustainability heroes.

The 2015 Sustainable Santa Fe Awards have been selected and the winners are:
Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity in the category “Affordable Green Building” for their Passive House Project
Fruit of the Earth Organics in the category “Green Economic Development” for producing organic medical cannabis using very little water and creating local jobs
Four Bridges Traveling Permaculture Institute in the category “Environmental Justice” for Developing the Northern New Mexico Coalition Against GMOs
Tesuque Pueblo Agriculture Department in the category “Ecosystem Adaptation” for Tesuque Farms work to build a seed bank and processing facility and a range of indoor growing experiments
Eldorado/285 Recycles in the category “Solid Waste Reduction” for their "Compost in Every Backyard" program
Ann Alexander and Richard Khanlian in the category “Renewable Energy” for working with Homewise to create the Santa Fe SOL (Solar Opportunity Loan) fund aimed at making solar PV affordable to lower income families
Fiberspan Concrete Elements in the category “Green Product or Technology” for creating a more durable product for local building elements that have a lower greenhouse gas footpring
Water Efficiency Rating System Development Team in the category “Water Adaptation” for developing an accurate and flexible tool to drive water conservation in measurable ways
AlphaGraphics Santa Fe in the category “Triple Bottom Line” for becoming the only Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified printer in Santa Fe, meeting the rigorous sustainable practices throughout the shop that reduce clear cutting and protect indigenous peoples' rights.
Santa Fe Public Schools and Reunity Resources in the category “Outreach and Education” for developing a comprehensive food waste to compost program in the schools
NMDOT District 5 in the category “Low-Carbon Transportation” for designing the Rabbit Rd re-pavement project, based on community input, to also rehabilitate the shoulders to allow safe bicycle and pedestrian passage.
Santa Sidra Hard Cider in the category “Food System Adaptation” for launching a business using locally-grown apples that would otherwise go to waste as they are too small, too big or too blemished to be sold for eating, thereby creating a new market for New Mexico's family farmers.
New Energy Economy in the category “Environmental Advocacy” working with and giving voice to a broad range of New Mexican groups that would be negatively affected by PNM’s proposed replacement plan, to advocate for a better, healthier and more economically just plan
Student Wellness Action Team in the category “Youth Led” for youth leaders who encourage their peers and community to practice healthy behaviors that increase wellness in the community. They held an alcohol outlook density summit and created a video about the negative effects of high densities of liquor stores.The award winners will be on hand to share their projects and answer questions.
