The Class of 2017 Mayor's Arts Awards Recipients
The Class of 2017: Mayor's Arts Awards Recipients

The process of selecting each year’s slate of recipients starts with members of the public recommending worthy individuals and organizations. A committee then undertakes the challenging task of culling this list down to a suggested group. In reviewing the recommendations, the committee looks for artistic excellence, significant contributions to the arts and commitment to Santa Fe. The Mayor then finalizes the selection.

Presented at this ceremony is also the Melissa Engestrom Youth Art Award, honoring the artistic achievements and community service of an individual 21 years of age or younger. Past recipients of the Melissa Engestrom Youth Art Award have gone on to be successful professional artists in Santa Fe and beyond.

Since 1991, the City of Santa Fe has recognized individuals, organizations and businesses for their outstanding contributions to the arts in Santa Fe. The list of past recipients is a veritable who’s-who of the arts community. From artists of all types, to educators, philanthropists, supporters, nonprofits and businesses, the annual Mayor’s Arts Awards truly represents the best of Santa Fe.

Thank you to all of you who nominated an individual or organization for this year's Awards!
