Interlock License

Arrested for DWI in New Mexico?

After being arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWl), your driver's Iicense may be revoked by two different jurisdictions: administratively by the Motor Vehicle Division and then upon conviction in a criminal court.

Please refer to this link DWI INFORMATION for information from MVD about important driver's license information and how to request a hearing for your license.

The administrative revocation will become effective 20 days from the date a Notice of Revocation is served to you and will last for 6 months or longer depending on whether this is your first DWI arrest.

The only way to drive legally while your license is revoked is to obtain an ignition interlock license and have an ignition interlock device installed in EVERY vehicle you drive.
