RIVER TALKS

An educational series sponsored by the City of Santa Fe and the River Commission

Best Management Practices in the Southwest: How Our Neighbors to the South are Planning for Water Usage in the Future

Presented by Andy Otto, Santa Fe Watershed Association, and

Rick Shean, Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority

Water 2120 is the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority’s (Water Authority’s) 100-year water resources management strategy. Taking into account climate change, population growth, and dwindling surface water supplies, the Water Authority evaluated over forty water resource alternatives that could be used to supplement Albuquerque’s water supply. By conserving more, expanding its current reuse water infrastructure, and better managing its current supplies and storage, the Water Authority will have a resilient and sustainable water supply for the next 100 years and beyond.

5:30 – 6:30 pm, Santa Fe Convention Center, W Marcy St, Santa Fe, at the Next Generation Water Summit
