Since 2009 the Santa Fe Police Department has been seizing vehicles due to a DWI or revoked license arrest.  If the claimant has multiple offenses or if the vehicle is deemed abandoned per State statute; vehicles are auctioned by the City or State.

PREVIOUS OWNERS AND/OR ARRESTEES ASSOCIATED WITH ANY VEHICLE, ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE/OR BID ON THEIR VEHICLE.  PREVIOUS OWNER VERIFICATIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON THE DAY OF THE AUCTION.

Vehicles were operating when they were placed into the lot. Vehicles may require service and/or parts (battery, tires, etc.) to make them fully operational. Vehicles are sold as is. There are no guarantees to the condition of the vehicle.  Vehicles may be inspected by appointment only, Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm. Please call (505) 955-5042 to schedule an appointment.

Auctions will be posted throughout the year.  Please check the website periodically for updated inventory. Please read all the terms and conditions carefully before you place a bid on Public Surplus.  There are NO REFUNDS or GUARANTEES. 

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING ALL ARRANGEMENTS/COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH REMOVAL OF VEHICLE.

Buyers will be held responsible for filing all title transfers and registration documents with their local motor vehicle department.

REMEMBER: Your bid is the same as a contract - Please only bid on an item you are serious about buying. Fraudulent bidders will be blocked! A winning bid constitutes a legally binding contract.

NOTE: The successful bidder will be required to remit payment to the Purchasing Division within five business days.  Vehicle must be removed within ten business days from the date of Notice of Award.

After ten business days, bidder will be charged $10.00 per day for storage. This fee will be payable at the time of removal. The City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Police Department reserve the right to block/ban customers who abandon property or refuse to pay for an item.
