 2018-19 Cultural Investments

Through contracts for services with local nonprofit arts organizations, the City supplies a variety of cultural activities that generate significant economic impact for the community.  Every dollar provided by the City is matched by the organizations, generating a total investment of over $1.5 million in cultural infrastructure. The services that are supported range from hands-on educational programs for underserved communities, to high-profile arts events by established cultural institutions, to exciting new cultural activities.

Community Arts Development

The Community Arts Development program supports high-quality, community-based projects that provide arts services to the local community. Examples of projects in which the City has made an investment are New Mexico School for the Arts' annual public performances and exhibitions, ARTsmart's exhibits in the public schools featuring over 1,100 Santa Fe Public School students, and Indigenous Solutions' Indigenous Solutions Festival, an event designed to bring together local artists and healing practitioners to celebrate healing through laughter, music and community.
