This software is a highly customized MIH application based on an existing and successful MIH program (Colorado Springs Fire Department).  This type of service (where fire departments identify vulnerable individuals and then bring a multi-disciplinary team to address the patient’s barriers to health) is very new and the software industry is just beginning to understand operational needs and design software for it. Julota Reach has been working very closely with CSFD to develop a software solution designed around the workflows which have proven successful.  SFFD is modeling its intervention after CSFD’s program and therefore has very similar workflows.  Julota Reach has a proven solution. Because of limited administrative resources, SFFD needs a solution which requires minimum administrative time. Other software companies which have started to develop MIH products either are very basic and unable to capture our workflows or require a significant amount of time from SFFD administration to write reports, create forms, manage workflows, etc. Julota Reach’s software and service currently holds all our data. The application being considered is unique and continuation with this vendor is necessary at this time for the public interest as many FD and City resources would have to go into finding a new vendor and then customizing their application to accept our data moving forward and increase the risk of technical complications.
