For the last several years, the Santa Fe Police Department has collaborated with the Solace Crisis Treatment Center to investigate and assist victims of sexual assault, crimes against children, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Solace is the only organization within the City of Santa Fe and regional area that provides these unique services. Furthermore, no other organization has the resources or staff to provide the services outlined in attachment one of the agreement between the City of Santa Fe and Solace Crisis Treatment Center. Lastly, the Santa Fe Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is housed at the Solace Crisis Treatment Center (since 2002) and has access to professional services to assist with the specialized interview techniques and services for children and victims of sexual assault. No other organization is capable or equipped to house seven detectives and a supervisor and provided the services outlined in the agreement between the City of Santa Fe and Solace Crisis Treatment Center.
