Environmental Services (Trash and Recycling)
The Environmental Services Division is dedicated to the protection of our environment, our community and our people.
The Environmental Services Division provides residential and commercial trash and recycling collection, reduction, transport and diversion. More detailed information is located in the Santa Fe City Code chapter XXI - Environmental Services
Beginning July 20, 2015, the City of Santa Fe Environmental Services Division will be expanding the materials collected in our curbside recycling program. Additional materials to be accepted will be Phone Books, Paperboard/Chipboard (e.g., cereal boxes, egg cartons, beverage packaging material) Paperback and Hardcover Books, Plastics (#3 - #7), including bottles, jars, yogurt/margarine tubs, deli/salad clamshells (non acceptable plastics include styrofoam and plastic bags); Milk Cartons and Drink Boxes.
The additional materials can be added to your mixed recycling container, and glass must be in the separate in the second container. Santa Fe Residents can pick up recycling containers Monday through Friday at 1142 Siler Road, Building A. Recycling bins are often made available at certain community events like Santa Fe Bandstand on July 18, and others.City residents are encouraged to rethink their waste by reusing materials, reducing what we throw away and recycling what we can… For more information please contact the Environmental Services Division at 505.955.2200 or 505.955-2209.
Special Route for Disabled Residents
Residents can pick up recycling bins at 1142 Siler Rd. Monday through Friday or during special tabling events on the plaza or other City locations as designated and advertised by the Division.
