Eight Santa Fe Young People Graduate Friday

from Job Skills Program Funded in Part by Economic Development Grant

Eight Santa Feans will graduate on Friday from a Youthworks and Make Santa Fe collaborative training academy that was one deliverable for $20,000 in grant funding from the City’s Economic Development Fund.

The students are trained in a range of workforce ready trades related to digital fabrication and smart manufacturing, ranging from 3D printing to woodworking and more.

Mayor Javier M. Gonzales said, “There may be no greater use of taxpayer dollars than preparing our young people for the workforce of the future – it helps our local families and it helps our businesses, and we should be proud of the investments we’re making back into the community.”

The full press release is below, with more information about the ceremony and the program.
