The City Clerk, shall efficiently preserve the records in the present and those needed for the future. The City Clerk's office shall strive to provide a customer friendly atmosphere for the staff and public who wish to research minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and city council packets. Meeting agendas and city council packets are available on the web for greater accessibility to staff and public.
The City Clerk shall be responsible for conducting all facets of municipal elections in accordance with the Municipal Election Code and 3-1-5 NMSA 1978. All election documents shall be accurate and published as required by law. All necessary supplies and equipment needed for conduction of the election shall be secured.
The City Clerk's office shall prepare packets for city council meetings and attend same; follow up on all council approved items (ensure adopted bills are enrolled and engrossed; publish notices of public hearings and adoption of ordinances; attain proper signatures on all agreements, etc.)
