Councilor Trujillo was first elected to the Governing Body in March 2006 and was re-elected without opposition in March 2010, serving his second four-year term.

Councilor Trujillo serves on these committees:
  • Public Safety Committee - Chair
  • Public Works/CIP & Land Use Committee - Member  
  • Public Utilities Committee - Member 
  • Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization (SFMPO) Transportation Policy Board - Member

Councilor Trujillo has been a strong advocate for Parks, Public Safety, Youth and Senior programs
 and for hiring more police officers to better serve the residents of Santa FeTrujillo was the principal sponsor of the annual Children's Fishing Derby for the kids of Santa Fe that has been a success since 2007. Councilor Trujillo was also the principal sponsor of the city's Speed Van Program which encourages safer driving habits. 

Councilor Trujillo continues to advocate for new parks while improving the existing ones, as well as continuing to assist our police and fire departments to acquire the personnel and equipment necessary to keep
Santa Fe safe. Councilor Trujillo is also advocating for a new Senior Center to better serve the growing population of seniors on the south side of Santa Fe.

Education and Experience
Councilor Trujillo was born and raised in Santa Fe. He attended Kearny Elementary, DeVargas Jr. High and graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1986.  He considers himself fortunate that he and his wife live and are raising their family in the same District 4, Bellamah neighborhood where he grew up. He attended Santa Fe Community College and New Mexico State University, and in 1994 he had the honor of portraying Capitan-General y Gobernador Don Diego de Vargas for the Santa Fe Fiesta. 

Councilor Trujillo is a proud member of civic organization Los Caballeros de Vargas.


Councilor
Trujillo was the Head Freshman and Junior Varsity Baseball coach for Santa Fe High School in the late 1990's. He has served as an assistant basketball coach at Ortiz Middle School. He has served as a coach, board member, and referee/umpire for many local youth leagues, and continues to coach youth baseball in Santa Fe.

Trujillo is a member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) .

Councilor
Trujillo is married to Amber K. Espinosa-Trujillo and they have two children, Hunter and Krystianna. He is employed by the New Mexico Department of Transportation Fleet Management Bureau.
