Santa Fe Homes Program
Overview
Through the Santa Fe Homes Program (SFHP), the City of Santa Fe requires that all new housing developments provide a percentage of the homes as affordable. Initially a 30% program, City Council passed changes to the Ordinance in 2011 to provide 20% of all new developments as affordable for-purchase housing. These changes are in effect from June 21, 2011 through June 20, 2014. The percentage of affordable rentals (15%) remains the same.  If you have questions regarding SFHP or an old HOP agreement please call Alexandra Ladd at (505) 955-6346.

Recent changes to the Santa Fe Homes Program:

In 2011, the SFHP for-purchase affordable housing requirement of new developments was decreased to 20%. Please see the SFHP Information Sheet below for more information.

In 2010, the Governing Body also approved changes to the Santa Fe Homes Program Ordinance and Administrative Procedures. The updated documents are posted below. The two changes to the program are that the sales prices for the homes increased and the first time homebuyer requirement was eliminated.
