Taxes, Utilities, & Telecom
Taxes
Unlike most other states, New Mexico has enjoyed healthy budget surpluses in recent years. As a result, the State has been able to:
- Cut income taxes and other key rates
- Put programs in place to accommodate growing businesses
- Shield growing businesses from tax burdens that might stifle their progress
For more information on taxes in New Mexico, see the Taxation Policy & Incentives.
Utilities
New Mexico’s major gas and electric provider is PNM. The company actively promotes economic development around the State. One way that PNM does this is with very reasonable gas and electric rates.
Telecommunications
New Mexico is wired. With low-cost telecommunications and excellent high-speed, data-transport capacity, the State’s telecommunications infrastructure is open for business. For more information on New Mexico's telecom accomodations, view some interesting facts and figures.
