The Legislative Services staff Interacts with City staff, the Governing Body and the public regarding proposed legislation, including resolutions, bills and ordinances. All proposed ordinances and resolutions go through the committee review process. After committee review, resolutions go to the City Council for adoption. Proposed ordinances, which are called bills, go before the City Council as a request to publish a notice of public hearing. Within approximately one month, the City Council holds a public hearing and considers the adoption of the bill.
