Business Trash & Recycling Guidelines & Rates
New Commercial Development: New commercial properties are required to have plans reviewed through the Planning Division. As part of that process Solid Waste Division reviews enclosure design and dumpster locations.
Setup Service: To start new commercial service, Solid Waste Division staff will perform a site visit to identify the proper location and type for commercial trash and recycling services. Please call to arrange that visit. Containers will need to be located a minimum of 6 feet from the buildings and/or overhangs to prevent damage.
Enclosures: When used, enclosures must comply with enclosure guidelines and must be maintained in fully operating condition.
Prohibited Items: Please take these items to the transfer station or call us for roll off service.
a. No hazardous, infectious or industrial waste shall be placed in the container. This includes waste cooking oils or grease, major auto parts, construction debris, chemicals and paint.
b. No large items such as furniture, mattresses or pallets.
c. No construction waste such as cement, lumber, carpeting, brick, soil, etc.
Bag Trash: In order to minimize litter, trash should be bagged and lids kept closed. Litter that spills around the container due to unbagged trash shall be cleaned by the customer.

If the container cannot be serviced due to overloading, the customer will be notified to remove additional material. Additional days of service will be required for chronically overloaded containers.
Moving Containers: City containers shall not be moved except by the Solid Waste Division. Please call to arrange this service.
Container Cleaning: Cleaning of commercial containers is the responsibility of the business using the container.
