Overview
Parking spaces designated specifically for persons with disabilities have been centrally located in the downtown area to provide convenient access to all businesses within a close proximity to each space, although persons who display a valid placard may park in any city lot or at any parking meter for free.
Although colored curb markings are not required under federal regulations, many spaces, both on-street and off-street have color-coded curbs or bumpers for quick visibility and convenience. Vehicles parked in a parking space reserved for a person with a disability must display the proper license plate or placard. Applications for permanent or temporary placards may be obtained at:
