Historic Districts Review Board
The Historic Districts Review Board (HDRB) consists of seven members who are appointed by the Mayor with City Council approval. The membership is made up of one licensed architect, one historian, one representative of some aspect of the construction industry, one business-owner within the historic districts, one member of the Old Santa Fe Association, and two members-at-large.
The HDRB holds public hearings twice per month on the second and fourth Tuesdays to review, approve, conditionally approve, disapprove, or postpone for future action on applications for new construction, exterior alteration, and demolition of structures; to assign historic status to structures and primary elevations on historic structures; to hear appeals of final actions of the Land Use Department Director; and to recommend to the Governing Body landmark status to structures outside of the historic districts and applications for the demolition of landmark structures.
