Woodcarving in progress
Woodcarver Ivan Dimitrov has more than 40 years of woodworking experience.  In Franklin Miles Park he created a site-specific carving of St. Francis hold birds from an existing dead tree in the park.

"The woodcarving of the tree trunk presents a wonderful opportunity to create a sculpture that will add to the park's identity and sense of place, as well as create a more pleasant environment for the public," states Dimitrov.  "It is a great honor to be given the chance to work on the piece and contribute to the uniqueness and beauty of Santa Fe."
